Rev’d Chris Hardy, a Methodist Minister who began work in the Shropshire and Marches Circuit last September, has died suddenly and unexpectedly at home.
Whilst he had only been in post for a short period, Chris has already made many good relationships with local people. He worked with Methodist congregations in Asterley, Minsterley, Plealey, Pontesbury, Snailbeach, Stiperstones, Vron Gate, Wattlesborough and Worthen.
Rev’d Richard Hall, Superintendent Minister of the Shropshire and Marches Circuit, said “We are all terribly shocked and saddened by Chris’s death. He was so looking forward to developing his ministry here and was full of ideas. Chris had already established himself as a good colleague. We shall miss him a great deal.”
Chris moved from Northampton to train for ministry at the Queen’s Foundation in Birmingham. Rev’d Dr Jane Craske, Director of Methodist Formation said, “Students and staff at Queen’s were shocked to hear the sad news. Chris was a generous friend and fellow-student who left Queen’s in the summer eager to begin ministry.”
We hold Chris’s family, friends, colleagues and church congregations in prayer and give thanks that Chris himself now knows in full measure the height and depth and breadth of God’s love for him.
